THE MEKONG LODGE

For those who not only want to explore the Mekong Delta but also want to unwind in a beautiful setting, a stay at the Mekong Lodge is a delightful alternative to the standard excursions. A few hours' drive from Saigon, you'll find the town of Cai Be. Here, you'll spend three days in charming bungalows near the water.

 
 



DAY 1  SAIGON - CAI BE
At 8 am our driver will pick you up from your hotel. It takes a little while to leave the bustling city behind, but soon after, you'll be in the countryside of the vast Mekong Delta. By 10 am, you'll arrive at the Cai Be port, from where you'll be taken to the Mekong Lodge on a small boat. After checking in and having lunch, there's a walk to the nearby village. You'll visit a few local artisanal workshops, including brick-making, and get to know the local people. In the evening, a delightful dinner will be served in the Lodge's restaurant, and you can unwind further in the Riverside Bar.

DAY 2  CAI BE
After a breakfast buffet, you'll board a traditional sampan for a visit to the floating market of Cai Be. Hundreds of boats gather here to trade their fresh produce. Following that, you'll embark on a cycling tour along narrow paths and the many canals that enrich this area. You'll have the opportunity to pick and taste the fruits that the Mekong Delta is renowned for. Towards the end of the day, you'll become acquainted with Vietnamese cuisine as you prepare dinner together with the Lodge's chefs, which you'll of course enjoy.

DAY 3  CAI BE - SAIGON
In the morning, there's time for a short walk. Around noon, you'll be taken back to Cai Be by boat, where your driver awaits to take you back to Saigon. However, you can also continue your journey, perhaps to Can Tho, the tropical island of Phu Quoc for a delightful beach vacation, or to Chau Doc in the border, from where you can continue your holiday to Cambodia or back to Saigon.
