VIETNAM IN A BIRD'S EYE VIEW (21 DAYS)

When you have three weeks available for your vacation, this trip offers you the opportunity to get to know Vietnam in all of its aspects. A visit to Sapa and Bac Ha, as well as a two-day excursion to the Mekong Delta, are two of the highlights of Vietnam in a Bird's Eye View.

DAY 1  HANOI
We personally welcome you at Noi Bai Airport and take you to our family guesthouse located outside the busy tourist center, in a cozy neighborhood near West Lake.

DAY 2  HANOI
The family guesthouse where you are staying is an excellent starting point for exploring this surprisingly green city, with its Old Quarter, bustling shopping streets, and attractions such as Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum and the Temple of Literature. Depending on your preference, a trip to the Perfume Pagoda can be arranged.

Upon arrival in Lao Cai you meet your tour guide. Together with him you plan a route for a walk in the Sapa area. Especially those who want to embark on a longer and more challenging trekking-route will quickly find themselves in a different world, where time seems to stand still. You'll meet colorful ethnic minorities, including the Red Dzao, H'mong, and Day.

HOTEL: Sapa Cloud Hotel

DAY 5  SAPA - BAC HA
In the morning, you'll have the opportunity to explore Sapa on your own and visiting the local market. During the day, you'll travel on to Bac Ha.

DAY 6  BAC HA - CAN CAU - BAC HA - HANOI
While the Sapa market on day 5 is increasingly geared towards tourists, today you'll visit a completely original market: about twenty kilometers from Bac Ha, near the Chinese border, lies Can Cau, where the particularly colorful H'mong minority gathers every Saturday: corn wine (with an alcohol content of about 50 percent!), pigs, cows, and not to forget dogs are the main trading goods. In the afternoon, you'll explore the surroundings of Bac Ha before returning to Hanoi by night train. Stay the night in our guesthouse.

DAY 13  HUE
Many cultural treasures of the former capital were lost during the Vietnam War - understandably, the Vietnamese refer to it as the American War. Thanks to extensive restoration work, Hue still exudes a 'royal' atmosphere. A boat trip offers an excellent opportunity to explore the surroundings of Hue. Day at leisure.

DAY 14  HUE - DANANG - HOI AN

DAY 15  HOI AN
Hoi An is a town that has retained much of its charm despite a significant increase in tourism. It is the ideal place for shopping. Very few leave this place without having a tailored suit or traditional Vietnamese clothing made. Those who provide their wishes and measurements in the morning can wear their handmade order in the evening. In addition to custom clothing, you can also buy exceptionally beautiful woodwork here. Day at leisure.

DAY 17  SAIGON
Despite spending nearly three weeks in Vietnam, the possibility of experiencing a culture shock is still quite real as you walk through the Chinese district of Cho Lon in Saigon. Bustling, dirty, and noisy are commonly used descriptions for the former capital of South Vietnam. And yet, Saigon undeniably holds its own charm. For those who want to escape Saigon for a day, a visit to the Cao Dai sect in Tay Ninh and the Cu Chi tunnels, from which the Viet Cong made life difficult for the Americans during the war, is an option.
