Not only there are lots of canals and streams in the Mekong Delta, it is also very flat. This is what makes the Mekong Delta perfect for exploring by bike. For this tour, guided by an experienced guide, you absolutely don't need to be a 'mountain goat,' your biggest challenge will be the heat. Fortunately, your luggage will be transported by a support vehicle, and there will always be water available.
DAY 1SAIGON - MY THO - VINH LONG You will be transported to Long An, from where you'll cycle through rice fields to My Tho. After having lunch there, you'll continue to Cai Be, just North of Vinh Long. A ferry will take you to a nearby island where you'll stay overnight at a homestay with local people.

DAY 2VINH LONG - CHAU DOC You'll start with a three-kilometer walk to the ferry. After the crossing, you'll be driven to Sa Dec, known from the book 'The Lover' by Marguerite Duras and the film of the same name. Via Cho Moi, where you'll have lunch, you'll cycle to Chau Doc. In the early evening, you'll ascend Sam Mountain to enjoy the sunset and the view over the endless expanse of the Mekong Delta, stretching far into Cambodia.

DAY 3CHAU DOC - CAN THO An early start with a boat trip to the market, floating villages, and fish farms. Then you'll cycle through Tri Ton, Thot Not, and a bird sanctuary to Can Tho.

DAY 4CAN THO - SAIGON During the morning, you'll be on the water: exploring the streams and tributaries around Can Tho by boat. The highlight is undoubtedly a visit to the floating market. Then you'll cycle to Vinh Long. After lunch, you'll return to Saigon by car.
