CAI BE FLOATING MARKET

For those with limited time but still want to experience the Mekong, this trip to Cai Be is an excellent choice. Though the floating market of Cai Be is getting smaller every year as the trade is shifting more and more into modern central markets, the numerous small canals in Cai Be still attracts many day trippers to this charming river-land mixed small town.

 
 



SAIGON - CAI BE
You will depart southward from Saigon at 7:30 am and arrive by boat at the floating market at 10 am. Here, you can witness local farmers and traders conducting business on the water. Afterward, you will stroll through the town of Cai Be and see how cassava is processed, among other things.





CAI BE - AN THAI
You continue walking through the village to get back to our boat which is waiting to bring you to another island for lunch served with many Vietnamese’s delicious dishes. Time to relax and have a short walk to garden of longan and durian nearby. In the afternoon, another boat ride takes you through canals and along the main branch of the Mekong, which is up to a kilometer wide in some places. Then you keep walking to An Thai village where people collect the manioc chips after full day drying in the sunshine.
