INCENSE AND CONICAL HATS

During this day excursion you will visit the villages of Quong Phu Cau and Chuong where incense and the famous Vietnamese conical hat are made in a traditional way. In both villages these crafts have been passed down from generation to generation for centuries. You will meet local families who will introduce you to the secrets of their profession.

 
 


HANOI - QUANG PHU CAU
After breakfast, you depart from your hotel in Hanoi and travel approximately forty kilometers south to Quang Phu Cau, a village where incense has been made for generations. Already upon arrival you can see colorful formations of this fragrant substance drying in the sun. In the local factory you will witness the entire incense manufacturing process: cutting the bamboo, making the incense paste and dipping the bamboo sticks in it.





QUANG PHU CAU - CHUONG
In Chuong visit the local pagoda and the community hall. Then you'll meet one of the local families who make what the village is famous for: conical hats. After lunch you will take a walk through the village and see how the hats are made in different stages.

A drive of approximately one hour will take you back to Hanoi.
